Advanced Clinical & Sports Injury Massage incorporates a wide spectrum of modalities (techniques) to increase your range of movement (ROM) and decrease pain. Unlike some massage techniques, Advanced Clinical & Sports Injury Massage is a holistic therapy. This means that it focuses on the 'whole person' and aims to address a range of factors that could be influencing tension and pain sometimes referred to as the Biopsychosocial model. Advanced Clinical & Sport Injury Massage brings together Eastern and Western approaches seamlessly to reduce chronic pain and enhance wellbeing.
I use a number of modalities as part of my treatment plan, this includes, Trigger Point Therapy, EMMETT Technique, Myofascial Release, Soft Tissue Release (STR), Deep Tissue Massage, AMMA Fusion, Assisted and PNF Stretching.
Restorative and Functional Yoga Teacher. My classes, 1 2 1 and 1 2 2 private sessions focus on improving your range of movement, improving strength, reducing stress and pain felt in your body.
Persistent chronic stress and anxiety can create tension in the body, your muscles shorten and tighten and they learn to adapt to a new limited range of movement. Think about your shoulders, how often do you notice your shoulders pulled up to your ears when you are tired or concentrating at work!
Restorative Yoga stimulates the parasympathetic part of the Autonomic Nervous System - which promotes healing, rest and digest. Improving your sense of wellbeing and allowing you to rest deeply.
My Functional Yoga classes focuses on improving strength and range of movement, I tend to move away from stretching as this often introduces weaknesses into the joints and muscles. Each Functional Yoga class includes some Restorative Yoga.
