Founded in 2004, the mission of the Phoenixville Area Timebank has been to create a strong, responsive, and connected community through the creation of a local services exchange network comprised of the talents and skills of our members. The foundation of this exchange network is based on time, where one hour of time spent helping someone else "earns" one time dollar, and that person may spend that time dollar for an hour of assistance from a different person. When trust is built through individual time exchanges, social gatherings, classes, and community projects, the social fabric of the community is strengthened. And as the number of hours invested by members increases with each year, the impact on the community continues to grow.
